Purchasing a ticket to DisneySea does not automatically grant you access to the park’s newest area, Fantasy Springs, the lands of Anna and Elsa, Rapunzel and Peter Pan!
So many people misunderstand this and are disappointed they miss out on Fantasy Springs during their trip to DisneySea. This article details exactly how to gain access to this exclusive new area.
Tip: You need to be prepared!
What is Fantasy Springs?
Fantasy Springs is the newest area of Tokyo’s DisneySea and combines the Frozen Kingdom, Rapunzel’s Forest and Peter Pan‘s Neverland into one gorgeous magical land.
Fantasy Springs was opened on 6 June 2024 and is incredibly popular. Hence why it’s so difficult to get access to this new area.
Fantasy Springs is aimed at a younger audience and is perfect for little ones to enjoy calm rides and a magical experience at DisneySea.
If you’re a thrill seeker, rides in Fantasy Springs will not excite you as much as others in the park like Journey to the Centre of the Earth or Raging Spirits rollercoaster. However, the theming and atmosphere is gorgeous!
Fantasy Spring Hotel package
This is easiest and most expensive way to access Fantasy Springs
Purchasing a Fantasy Springs hotel package is the easiest, but also the most expensive way to gain access to Fantasy Springs.
These packages start at around 84,000 yen per adult and go up to around 258,000 yen per adult and they are very hard to secure!
With a Fantasy Springs Hotel Package, guests are given automatic entry to Fantasy Springs (but not ride access). Guests will still need to purchase passes or use standby passes for rides.
Happy Entry – 15 minutes head start into park
Guests staying at Disney Hotels can take advantage of Happy Entry. This means they can enter the park 15 minutes earlier than everyone else, and this means first access to all passes, so almost guaranteed entry to your favourite rides.
Fantasy Springs Magic 1 day passport
Guests staying at the Fantasy Springs Hotel are also eligible to purchase the ‘1 day passport Fantasy Springs Magic Pass‘. *Pass only available until 31 March 2025*
This pass provides priority access to all rides in Fantasy Springs (except Tinker Bell’s Buggies) without a specified time. This means users can ride any time they want and as many times as they want, without long wait times!
These tickets aren’t cheap though understandably, and for adults, this passport costs 22,500 yen to 29,500; children 19,700 yen to 20,600 yen. This is the cost on top of your package (hotel and park entry) cost.
Fantasy Springs step-by-step game plan (without hotel booking)
- 1. Arrive at DisneySea no later than 7am
- 2. Scan your tickets into your Disney Resort app while waiting in line
Book Passes
- 3. As soon as you enter the park (around 9am), open your Disney App and purchase Disney Premier Access Pass (2,000 yen each) to Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey
- **If there are no access passes to Frozen Journey available, purchase a Premier Access Pass to Peter Pan or Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival**
- 4. Book a standby pass for the ride you didn’t get with Premier Access (can be done concurrently with another phone and same tickets scanned in)
- 5. Book a 40th anniversary Pass for another ride (these are not inside Fantasy Springs, but you can access Indiana Jones, Raging Spirits Roller Coaster, Turtle Talk and more for free and with priority access).
Ok now you have booked your first rides you can relax a little as the rushing should be completed for now! Make a note for an hour from now as you need to book Premier Access again!
Order food or book restaurant
- 6. Now book your food! Either book a restaurant, a restaurant show or use the Disney Mobile Order to book food ahead of time.
The Disney Mobile Order is a great option that allows you to book food ahead of time, then arrive at the allocated time to the restaurant, select ‘I’m here’, then they will prepare your food and you can pick up within a few minutes. I highly suggest using this feature to save time.
Order more passes after one hour
- 7. One hour after booking your first Disney Premier Access Pass, you are then eligible to purchase another one. So this time book another Fantasy Springs ride if you can get one.
- 8. Two hours after booking your standby pass, you are eligible to book another one so try for another Fantasy Springs ride. If all sold out, try another ride or parade in the park.
- 9. Two hours after booking your 40th anniversary pass, you can book another ride.
Continue this pattern throughout the day, but chances are, if you get two Disney Premier Access Passes, two standby passes and two 40th anniversary passes, you are one lucky Disneylander!
Fantasy Springs passes (Disney Priority Access and Standby)
Using access passes is the next best way to enter Fantasy Springs
Iif you’re not prepared to spend tens of thousands of yen on access to Fantasy Springs, you need another plan. You need to use the access passes.
Disney Premier Access Pass
The Disney Premier Access Pass is the best way to access Fantasy Springs without a hotel stay. However, these sell out fast so you want to get to the park as early as possible!
How early to arrive at the park?
We arrived at the park by 7:30am on a Friday and entered the park by 9:15am. By then the Frozen Journey ride was completely sold out. However, we did get priority access for Peter Pan and then Standby for Rapunzel.
So I would suggest getting to the park no later than 7am if you want access to Fantasy Springs.
As soon as you enter the park, you will have access to passes on the Disney Resort app. Make sure you have your tickets scanned in ahead of time.
As soon as you enter DisneySea, purchase a Disney Premier Access Pass for Frozen Journey, the most popular ride. It will cost 2,000 yen per person. If that’s already sold out, try for Peter Pan or Rapunzel.
Access Pass glitches
With so many people accessing the Disney Resort App at once, expect some glitches with the app. The loading screen may take forever to load and it may come up with error many times before you can access your passes. Just keep trying!
Standby Passes
You can also order a standby pass on your Disney Resorts app for rides in Fantasy Springs. If Rapunzel, Peter Pan, Frozen Journey or Tinkerbell’s Busy Buggies becomes available, book it!
A standby pass is a free pass that allows access to a ride. However you will still have to stand in line and wait, but without a pass in Fantasy Springs you can’t access the ride at all, or even the area!
*We got a standby pass for Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival at 2:30pm (booked at 9:20am) and the wait time for the ride was 45 minutes. Later on, we walked past and the standby time was up to 80 minutes.
You need a pass to access Fantasy Springs!
As you walk towards the Fantasy Springs area of Disney Sea, you will see lines to get in. Here you will need to scan the QR code for the access pass you have on the app to enter Fantasy Springs and you cannot enter earlier than the time on your pass.
40th Anniversary Pass
The 40th Anniversary Pass will not help you get into Fantasy Springs, but it’s worth mentioning because it’s free and gives you priority access to specific rides!
*With the 40th Anniversary Pass, we chose Indiana Jones and were able to access this ride via the priority access line with minimal waiting!
This pass gives access to Raging Spirits rollercoaster, 20,000 Leagues under the Sea, Turtle Talk, Magic Lamp Theatre and the Nemo and Friends Searider Show.
So my advice is, don’t ignore this pass, go for it also!
Rides in Fantasy Springs
There are four exclusive rides in Fantasy Springs:
- Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey
- Peter Pan’s Neverland Adventure
- Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival
- Fairy Tinker Bell’s Busy Buggies
Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey
This is the most popular ride at Fantasy Springs and the hardest to get access to. Prioritise passes for this one first!
This water ride lasts 6.5 minutes and is suitable for all ages.
From the boat, travel through Anna and Elsa’s castle and relive the tale of their intriguing relationship with great attention to detail.
Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure
This 3D glasses ride goes for 6 minutes and is suitable for guests over 102cm.
Prepare to join Peter Pan, Tinkerbell and the lost children on an adventure to rescue John from Captain Hook and his pirates.
This ride reminded me of a calmer version of Star Tours, very enjoyable.
Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival
This very calm and beautiful water ride is suitable for all ages including babies.
The ride takes guests through Rapunzel’s ‘best day ever’, where she falls in love with Flynn Ryder and enjoys the lantern festival.
This ride is really about looking around and watching the scenery more than having any thrills.
Fair Tinker Bell’s Busy Buggies
This calm ride is for all ages and aimed towards younger ones. The ride lasts only 2 minutes.
Tinker Bell has started a new delivery service in Pixie Hollow and guests can help Tinker Bell deliver parcels.
Where to eat at Fantasy Springs
The Snuggly Duckling
The Snuggly Ducking is so cute and fun! We ate here and enjoyed our burgers, fries and even a souvenir Fantasy Springs book ornament filled with candy.
We used the Disney Mobile Order on the Disney app to purchase our food ahead of time and have it ready when we arrived at the restaurant. I highly recommend doing this instead of waiting in lines.
Food tips!
Order food ahead of time using Disney Mobile Order on your Disney app and schedule eating times outside of lunch time such as 10:30am and 2:30pm.
Royal Banquet of Arendelle
The Royal Banquet of Arendells serves delicious lunch sets with beef or seafood pot pies, smoked salmon, Olaf chocolate mousse and more.
You can also use Disney Mobile Order here to collect food without the wait times.
Oaken’s OK Foods
Oaken’s OK Foods is a small food stand where you can order Oaken’s Yoo-Hoo Bread with cardamon and beef and sweets and drinks. This place is great for a snack on the go!
Lookout Cookout
At the Lookout Cookout, guests can order snack boxes with different flavoured chicken tenders (butter chicken and lemon tea chicken) and shrimp and banana chips. Also don’t forget to get a Pixie Dust soda!
Popcorn Wagon
The popcorn wagon inside Fantasy Springs sells roast beef-flavoured popcorn which is delicious!
You can also order a Fantasy Springs souvenir popcorn bucket from some popcorn stands throughout the whole park. Each stand sells different types, so check what they’re selling before you line up!
*We got the Rapunzel light-up lantern with the incredibly cute Pascal the chameleon strap.
How to buy a ticket to Tokyo DisneySea
The Tokyo Disney website would seem the most logical place to buy Disney park entrance tickets. However, for some guests using foreign credit cards, the Disney website won’t work for you!
If you’re using a foreign credit card and you are not having any luck on the official Disney site, I recommend using Klook.
*I use Klook for my Disney tickets and had no issue scanning Klook’s QR codes to enter the park.
